Workshop Design – For Science!

Get your results seen and understood. That’s your goal as a scientist, right? Well, you’re not fully achieving it without some kind of image. Be it a graph, a diagram, or an entire graphical abstract, you’ll need some kind of visual information.

Images are incredibly powerful tools. They help understanding, and they draw attention to your work. Good visual design allows you to retain viewers and readers, and help explain them what you’ve discovered.

How? I’ll teach you in the workshop Design – For Science!

Rules of aesthetics

In about two hours, you’ll learn to apply the basics of design to your graphical abstract or any other image. Typography, colour theory, composition, and visual storytelling. No arty-farty vagueness: I’ll offer you hard and fast rules to follow for a better look. And when to break them.

The workshop focuses on scientists, but you don’t need an M.Sc. to attend and understand. Prior knowledge is not necessary. Yes, of English or Dutch, the languages you can follow this workshop in. Either online or off.

Get your work noticed and understood.

Tailored to you

Are you already working on an image or graphical abstract you need feedback on? Bring it in as a case in the workshop. You’ll get concrete and practical tips on improving its looks. Making it easier on the eyes, and thus easier to understand.

This workshop is tailored to you and your work in science. You’ll be entertained for about two hours in a relaxed and informal setting. Choose between an online workshop, or one in real life. Individually or in a group.
