Logo for IT security firm musketeers.group

Your hardware should be secure and safe. Important for you as a person, but also for companies. There are lots of people offering security services, but it’s nice if you can find someone you trust. That makes the feeling of safety even better. It’s that feeling that I tried to put in the logo for the IT security firm called ‘musketeers.group‘.

Keywords were openness, honesty, safety, growth and personable. Musketeers.group is a small company that aims to remain small: personal attention and contact are vital to the way they work. To ensure you’ll feel safe with them and their services.

White hats

When Tom and Erik asked me to create this logo, there was an existing one for a part of the ‘group’, Q-Musketeers. That was, basically, a blue shield. Q-Musketeers was only part of the group. The logo they asked of me was to be the general group logo. Could I make something that contrasted with the blue, but did have a characteristic ‘musketeer’ object?

What part of the musketeer is more striking that the hat? In many media, musketeers have specific hats with a wide, curled brim. That might work. I made the hat white, to represent trustworthiness. These musketeers are definitely the white hats.

But… representing white on a white background is quite the challenge. That’s where the heavy green lines came in. I chose green for calmness, trust and ‘everything go’. It also happens to be the colour of (very) old monochrome screens in IT.

The hat is doffed, as if the musketeer has taken it off in friendly, trusting greeting. The bright green plume is the flair and personality that the musketeers do their security work with.

An entire brand

Erik and Tom were very happy with this logo for their IT security firm. Proof: they asked me to turn it into an entire brand line. Banners, decals, an infographic, a website, and more.
